The best time for wildlife viewing and travelling in India is from October till June end, except a few of them such as Kaziranga or Manas National Park. They are generally open for visitors from November to April.

The chances of spotting animals in the jungle visit mainly depend on your luck. However, April to June months is considered one of the best times for visiting the wild, especially the tigers. During these months tigers are most likely to come out towards the water bodies so, your chances of spotting them increases many folds.

It is the favourite and most favourable time for photographers. India is not a year-round destination for tight sightings. As tiger parks are not open for the whole year. October to April is generally considered the best time for seeing the India Tigers.

The best National parks for tiger spotting in India are Corbett, Kanha, Ranthambore, Pench, Bandhavgarh, and Tadoba National Park. These national parks serve as the home to most tigers in India. These are considered one of the best habitats in India for tigers.

From Nov to Feb: Since it is the winter’s season in India, and it gets really cold, especially in North India, it is recommended that you dress in two to three layers of clothing.

From April to June: It is the summer season in India. And the temperatures can be downright hot. So, you should carry very lightweight clothes, a sun hat and sunglasses. Wearing long-sleeved shirts during wildlife safari drives can protect you from the sun.

  • Rains should always be considered as a possibility, no matter what season it is. Bringing a good waterproof rain gear would be a smart choice. Carry a lightweight, waterproof rain jacket and pants with you in case of sudden extreme weather conditions. Being comfortable is the key to enjoy the most in the safari, so many guests also prefer to wearing long underwear for morning drives in our open vehicles.

India has a captivating culture and prodigious architecture with fascinating wildlife. So, you visit India and don’t travel to this part then you are missing out a lot. There are several government rest houses inside Corbett which are very basic and probably can be called a ‘place to sleep’ than something lavish and luxurious. Many private lodges are situated on national park’s edges.

Although the accommodations vary based on where you go and what you want to see. The camps and safari lodges surrounding the National Parks like Bandhavgarh and Kanha consists of a wide range of luxury lodges and tents. In other areas like Gir in Sasan, which is the last home to the Asiatic lions, the accommodation is more basic and comfortable.
